British piano virtuoso Grosvenor is active on the world's top stages with his heart-stoppingly elegant touch, superb technique and unparalleled musicality, frequently collaborating with the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and numerous British orchestras. Hong Kong Sinfonietta is proud to present Grosvenor in Hong Kong, joining hands with the Chief Conductor of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and Music Director of the Cannes National Symphony Orchestra, Choi Hyun, to perform Brahms' emotionally charged First Piano Concerto. The work is grand in scale and full of dramatic contrasts, and Grosvenor's brilliant interpretation is particularly anticipated.
In addition, the orchestra will also present the Asian premiere of Swedish composer Snellsa's 'Burning My Letters – Remembering Clara', written in 2019 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Clara Schumann's birth, inspired by the voluminous correspondence between her and Brahms. The programme will also include Nielsen's First Symphony, showcasing the distinct personal style of this important Nordic composer in his early years.
